Casino KYC requests: what to send and what to question

Turn a vague verification delay into a list of specific requests, submission dates and decisions. Protect your documents while asking what still needs to be verified.

Casino KYC requests: what to send and what to question

A document request becomes frustrating when you cannot tell whether the casino has received the file, rejected it or simply not reviewed it. Repeatedly uploading everything does not resolve that uncertainty. Start with an inventory of what was asked for, what you supplied and the response to each item. The aim is to find the missing decision, not to prove that every identity check is unnecessary.

Ask what the check is trying to establish

Identity, address, payment ownership and source-of-funds questions are different checks. Ask which one remains outstanding and why the document already supplied does not answer it. A request for a clearer image should identify the unreadable part. A request for a different address document should explain the acceptable document type, date range and name requirements. Keep the response as part of your case timeline.

Do not assume that a green “verified” badge covers every later account review. Ask what the badge confirms and whether a new issue arose. Equally, an operator saying “compliance” does not explain which action it expects from you. If no additional action is needed, ask for confirmation that the review is waiting with the casino and for the next update.

Verify the destination before sending documents

Enter the casino's genuine website directly and find its approved upload channel. If support gives a new link, verify it through the existing account or published contact method before using it. Keep documents out of public chat threads and public complaint attachments. A moderator or casino representative reading your public case does not need a visible passport number to understand that a verification request is delayed.

Send only what has been specifically requested through that verified channel. If you are unsure whether a bank statement can be partially masked, ask the reviewing team what it must see before changing the file. Redacting a public evidence copy and meeting a private verification request are separate jobs. Never edit a date, name or transaction to make a document appear to satisfy a requirement.

Build a document log you can actually use

Create one line for each request: request date, document type, submission date, upload reference and result. Use ordinary labels such as “address document submitted 3 October” rather than including your address. Mark the result as received, accepted, rejected with a reason, or no answer. This immediately reveals whether the problem is one rejected item or an unanswered review of several accepted files.

If support asks for an item again, reply with its submission reference and ask whether the original file is accessible. There may be a genuine technical problem. Request a working alternative channel if the upload fails, keeping the failure message and time. Do not scatter sensitive files across multiple agents and inboxes simply because nobody has confirmed receipt.

Respond to a rejection without restarting the whole story

Quote the reason given and answer it directly. If an image was cropped, provide an uncropped version through the secure channel. If a document was considered too old, ask for the permitted date range before ordering a replacement. If the name differs because of a legitimate change or formatting convention, explain the discrepancy and ask which supporting record is acceptable. Avoid sending unrelated documents that create more questions.

Keep the first submission in your private record even after providing a replacement. Your complaint may concern the time taken or unclear instructions, so the earlier step still matters. A corrected document does not erase the fact that you asked for clarification several days before receiving it.

Be precise about timing and regulatory claims

The Gambling Commission's British guidance says age and identity must be verified before gambling and that information reasonably obtainable earlier should not first be demanded merely because the customer wants to withdraw. It also acknowledges later legal checks. The same guidance does not set one universal duration for document review. Those distinctions matter: a late request may deserve explanation without automatically proving an unlawful withholding of funds.

For another licensing market, find the actual rule and the operator's stated procedure before asserting a deadline. In your message, distinguish a term published on the website from a personal estimate supplied by a support agent. Record both, but do not turn either into a guaranteed payment date if it only concerns document review.

Ask for a review of the remaining obstacle

A useful formal complaint identifies the exact unanswered request, its effect on your withdrawal or account access, and the answer you need. Ask whether each submitted item has been accepted, which requirement is still unmet and who will provide the next update. If the same checklist has been repeated after acceptance, include that contradiction and the dates rather than an accusation about every customer being treated the same way.

Once verification is accepted, return to the payment question. Approval of documents is not proof that money was sent. Use the withdrawal stages guide to follow the next step, and the privacy checklist before publishing supporting records. Update your case with the actual verification decision even if another part of the dispute remains open.

Questions answered

How long should casino verification take?

There is no universal period across operators and markets. Identify the published review period, when your complete submission was received and the specific outstanding check.

Should I post my ID to prove I submitted it?

No. Describe the document type, submission date and confirmation. Keep identity documents inside the verified private verification channel.

Can I mask a private verification document?

Ask the casino which fields it requires before modifying a private submission. Always create a separate redacted copy for any public evidence.
